Safety First

Happy and healthy pups are our top priority at Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming. A day at the spa should be relaxing and stress-free for your furry friend. If your groomer feels your pet is distressed, we will take precautionary measures to help calm them. If we feel it is unsafe for the pet or groomer to continue, we will stop the process and return your pet to you with pictures and/or video explaining why we cannot safely continue our services. For the best experience possible, for pet and groomer, it’s important that you inform us prior to service if your pet has bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies. For your pet's safety and the groomer's safety, overly aggressive pets or overly stressed pets will not be groomed by Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming and will be returned to the client. Current rabies vaccination is required for all pets groomed by Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming.

De-matting

Dematting is the removal of tightly knotted fur on a pet’s coat. Dematting can be uncomfortable but is important to your pet’s health. Mats cause irritation and sores on your pet’s skin and need to be carefully and skillfully removed. Excessive de-matting can a painful, time-consuming, and costly procedure that can cause or aggravate skin conditions. Matted pets run the highest risk of accidents such as cuts and nicks from clippers and scissors. It is at our discretion to determine if it is in the pet's best interest to de-mat or "shave down" and start over. Shaving your pet may dramatically change your pet's appearance and the hair will be very short. This may also expose pre-existing conditions. Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming will not be responsible for the condition of your pet's coat or after-effects of grooming which may include but are not limited to itchiness, skin redness, sunburn, self-inflicted abrasions or irritation, or failure to regrow hair. Naturally, we take every precaution, and strive to make the dematting process as comfortable as possible.

Senior Pets & Pets With Disabilities

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially with senior pets or pets with pre-existing health conditions. Because senior pets and pets with health conditions are more prone to injury and illness, Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming will groom for cleanliness and comfort and may not be able to give you the styling you request if it is not in the best interest of the pet. Please understand that as the pet gets older, styling becomes less important, and comfort and safety becomes LMPG's main priorities. The goal for us is to see your pet the least number of times as possible to ensure that they are not suffering from undue stress due to frequent grooming.

Cancellation

Small businesses are greatly affected by last-minute cancellations and no-show appointments. Lakewood Mobile Pet Grooming schedules appointments to give your pet the undivided time and attention they need and deserve, in a soothing and calm environment. We accept a limited number of appointments each day to ensure our quality of service and your pet’s experience. Our automated system will send a text or email 48 hours in advance to remind you of your appointment. Of course, you can cancel your appointment, but we ask that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a full price of the grooming service for missed appointments, or a $50 cancellation fee will be applied to your next grooming appointment.

Coat length, breed size, cooperation of pet, quality of coat (matting), and aggression are all factors used when determining the final price. Rest assured our prices are fair and competitive.

Appointment Times

Appointment times are estimated arrival times. Please understand that we are working with live animals, and our schedule is subject to interruptions and delays, such as but not limited to refueling, traffic, driving distance between appointments, and previous appointments running over. For the safety of all pets, and to ensure our quality of service, we work carefully and never rush. If we feel we will be early or late, we will give you a courtesy call to let you know.
